The Appalachian Chronicle has launched Grassroots Appalachia, an educational and community outreach. It is a loose affiliation of individuals working on the grassroots level to help improve the lives of Appalachia’s poor, vulnerable and marginalized people. We are a cross-generational community from every walk of life, responding organically and cooperatively.
We accomplish our mission through publishing, a variety of workshops and periodic gatherings to address the region’s vital topics to help prepare local citizens to exert greater influence upon their communities in a positive and confident manner.
Our immediate project is my latest book, Fractured Sanctuary: A Chronicle of Grassroots Activists Fighting Pipelines of Destruction in Appalachia. We are presently having gatherings, talks and signings for the book. Check here for additional information.
