NPR NEWS ITEM: We’re spending $700 million on pet costumes in the costliest Halloween ever

I’m thinking of how much GOOD $70 million would do to help the thousands of migrants desperately trying to keep warm as the first snowfall of the season powers through today, as they sleep on sidewalks in front of police stations here in Chicago.  What an incredible bonanza if this $700 million absurd pet expenditure could be applied to alleviate HUMAN suffering!!
