It’s Arbor Day – Plant a Tree for Yourself, Critters and the Planet

Today is National Arbor Day. The purpose of Arbor Day is to encourage people to plant trees. This is a very good thing, so set some time aside this weekend to plant a tree or otherwise care for Mother Earth.

According to the Nature Conservancy, trees provide at least six benefits to us. They are:

  1. Trees eat the greenhouse gases that cause climate change.
  2. Trees boost our mental health while raising our physical health.
  3. Trees clean the air so we can breathe more easily.
  4. Trees give a home to the wildlife we love.
  5. Trees cool down your life, and could even save it.
  6. Trees filter your water, making your drinking supply cleaner and more reliable.
This is about a mile-long portion of the 303-mile long Mountain Valley Pipeline. We have more trees to plant to replace those destroyed by this project than we can count.

Get busy digging!
