Today is National Arbor Day. The purpose of Arbor Day is to encourage people to plant trees. This is a very good thing, so set some time aside this weekend to plant a tree or otherwise care for Mother Earth.
According to the Nature Conservancy, trees provide at least six benefits to us. They are:
- Trees eat the greenhouse gases that cause climate change.
- Trees boost our mental health while raising our physical health.
- Trees clean the air so we can breathe more easily.
- Trees give a home to the wildlife we love.
- Trees cool down your life, and could even save it.
- Trees filter your water, making your drinking supply cleaner and more reliable.

Get busy digging!
