Joyful Children Dancing During the Showcase Finale is a Tribute to the Musicians and Community

LENOIR, N.C. – The audience at the 27th Annual Caldwell Musicians Showcase enjoyed two sets of energetic, complex and diverse music last evening.

Yet, as talented as the dozen-plus musicians were, it was three children joyfully dancing during the Finale of the Showcase that perfectly displayed its essence.

Two of the youngsters are children of one of the musicians; the other of a local artist. They appeared from behind the curtain and could be seen dancing behind the piano. While we couldn’t entirely see them, we couldn’t miss their antics, legs bouncing and feet flying.

The audience’s standing ovation as the show closed is the community’s music review. The musicians knew it and were thrilled afterwards. Nothing, though, captured the essence of the Showcase and its purpose from its inception as did the delightfully dancing children. The musicians – and community – can celebrate that.

Let’s never forget what musicians contribute to our lives and our community. And, let us listen to the wisdom of the children, revealed to us with happy feet.
