Grassroots Appalachia is an educational and community outreach of the Appalachian Chronicle. It is a loose affiliation of individuals working on the grassroots level to help improve the lives of Appalachia’s poor, vulnerable and marginalized people. We are a cross-generational community from every walk of life, responding organically and cooperatively. We accomplish our mission through publishing, a variety of workshops and periodic gatherings to address the region’s vital topics to prepare local citizens to exercise greater influence upon their communities in a positive and confident manner.
