While here, you can shop at our Appalachian Fair Trade Store. You can learn more here about all of the artists and craftspeople contributing to our collection of hand-crafted items as well as books by local authors. You are not only purchasing outstanding art and crafts made by the hands and heart, you are helping a neighbor. Virtually every item you will find here is made in Caldwell County, though other regions of Appalachia are represented. We know each of our creators personally. We know what outstanding people they are and their love of their art, each other and our region.

I hope you’ll visit visit Grassroots Appalachia. The artists share what inspires them and we believe you’ll be inspired by their talent and enthusiam. That, to my way of thinking, makes for Conditions Favorable for Community Life – our ultimate goal at Grassroots Appalachia.
