Appalachian Travelogue [5]: Blue Ridge Parkway Splendor

Every season, every day brings unique and stunning views

LINVILLE, N.C. — Since I moved to North Carolina in 1974, the Blue Ridge Parkway has been my favorite destination. The reason I consider the mountains marvelous is because every season and every day brings unique and stunning views. Yesterday, Jan. 3, 2020, I traveled along it from the Linville area, across the Linn Cove Viaduct and on to Blowing Rock in the late afternoon; I’ve never seen the views more moving.

Below is just a little of what I saw. More to come.

  1. Mike…….Such beautiful pictures in this e-mail. I also remember, with great pleasure, your wonderful dad Big Mike, on this day 5 years ago, on this day, when he went to be in the presence of our Lord and Savior. What wonderful sweet memories I have of your dad.

Hope your campaigned( misspelled), is going well. Also hope to sometime in the near future to see you and Sarah. God speed Mike.

    Your friend, Clyde Baird
