Live Stand-up Comedy Show at Grassroots Appalachia in Lenoir Set for Aug. 15

LENOIR, N.C. – Three comedians from the documentary “Don’t Rock the Boat,” a documentary exploring political polarization in America, will be at Grassroots Appalachia in Lenoir on Saturday, Aug. 15. Set to appear are Sally Ann Hall, Adam Yenser and Executive Producer Lou Perez. The show is set for 7:30 p.m.

The documentary explores America’s political divide through the lens of stand-up comedy and an unlikely icebreaker: whitewater rafting. Filming is set for August 15–17, 2026, in Bryson City, North Carolina, on the Nantahala River.

Perez said that while addressing our political divide was important in casting the film, he said that being a good comedia was most important. “When we were casted the documentary, we wanted solid comics whose humor transcends politics,” he shares.

Perez says that each comedian will do a 20-minute set. That will be followed by interaction with the audience.
